At the start of this piece after doing the preliminary, I knew there was a lot to improve on but there was areas to mould into better things ready for this piece.
When we did the preliminary task, I had very little understanding of how all the pieces of a film went together, i.e audio, footage, Special effects. I had a lack of how to get the right camera shots into the piece and of how they could help to promote each other.
In the preliminary task, I knew there was areas which I had been good at such as the different camera shots and keeping it moving all the time. However, One big flaw I now see with it is the lack of speed of cuts between shots. If that had been the opening of a normal film produced in the real media world, I think a lot of people would have either fallen asleep or left the cinema as they would have found it boring to watch. Coming into the media piece which was the larger portion of my grade, I know see I had to have that improved significantly.
Having not done drama since year 9, This was my first piece of acting or in front of a camera in almost 4 years. At the same time I was trying to balance directing the movie and and control the other actors motions to fully capitalise on the task at hand. This really pushed my boundaries on control and organisation to the limit. I'm not the best at organisation I can admit that, but personally , this media piece was a highlight that actually showed how I could be very organised in what I was doing.
Outside of the classroom, I can admit I'm not usually the best at socialising with others and communicating with those I have never really had much to do with. This meant I may have struggled through this piece had I not actually worked well with my partner, Lauren. Between us, we have had our moments but we have managed to pull through, despite our differences of opinion and the fact she has been away several time where we are at crucial stages and got through our project in one piece.
To summarise the outcome of my piece, I believe I have fully developed and matured within a lot of aspect during this project. Some of the places, such as organisation and communication, will develop not just in Media and this piece of work, but outside which I can hopefully take to other subjects and things that I do . However, I do believe that next project If we work together, we will get straight into the work and not leave It as long. If we had given ourselves more time, then we could have developed it much more efficiently and not worried some much if one of us was away/
